About the event
This course is targeted at both councillors and staff who are line managers. Topics will include:
· How to respond to different staff problems.
· Who manages formal and informal disciplinary issues, the full council or a delegated committee?
· Understanding the benefits of effective informal counselling; to resolve most problems without the need for formal disciplinary action.
· How to conduct an informal counselling session.
· Conducting formal disciplinary action – the ACAS Guidelines.
